My 80-200 f2.8 has started giving this error, I have tried resetting the aperature ring, cleaning the contacts and changing the lenses, any other ideas before I bring it for a service?

This is on a Nikon D50 btw...

Sorry, no it happens only to that lens and changing to another and back didn't fix it...

Can you try it on another body?

It once happened to me on a D50m too and it ws the body mount that was the problem.

All it needed was a little tightening of the mount with a precision screwdriver.

I get fEE when I have my 50mm lens on anything other than 22 (on the lens itself - the yellow number). Have you tried fixing the manual focus yet? Might be that.

Other than that It could be the threading Id try it on another body too just to see if it's the lens.

I always thought that the fEE error was releated to F-stop errors only ?
That the camera couldnt control the Fstop on the lens or that the lens needs to be at F22 to allow the camera to control it..
