Ive always had an interest in astronomy since i was a kid had all the books and i use to have the solor system poster up on my wall

However recently ive become a little depressed at the certain destruction of man-kind when our sun finally goes out

Now i know were 4 billion years away and in all likely we'll have blown each other up or contracted a deadly unknown virus that'll wipe us out before the sun ever does but fact is we will never have the abiltiy to travel to an other star never mind a habitable planet due to the unimaginable distances

Its a very bleak and depressing long-term outlook for mankind

Personally, I'm hoping to be able to travel both extra dimensionally and intra dimensionally by then.

Also I'm hoping to keep my own hair with a little colour loss, but thats only natural.

How can you be worried about the extinction of mankind with the death of the Sun in 4 billion years. Thats like feeling sorry for the death of most of my ancestors in the first big planetoid impact on earth after the evolution of life 4 billion years ago. All those poor people.....opps I meant amoeba. :D

Whatever goes extinct with the death of the sun in 4 billion years wont be mankind or human no more than the amoeba 4 billion years ago were human.

Interesting point i never thought of it like that but havent we humans being pretty much the same for the last 200,000 thousend years evoloutionary wise

I think we have evolved as far as one species can......... take the crocidile or turtle for example they have being the same for the last couple hundred million years

Nah, life has less than that to live. The Sun will be so big and bright in 1 billion years from now that nothing will be alive on this planet, the sea and atmosphere will have boiled away 4 billon years before the Sun swallows the Earth.

But it's Ok we're working on a survival guide by moving the Earth to safety:D, if this ever can be done, I would love to actually see it in action.
