Presumably you hold a Full Category B licence?

After passing a C/C1/EC/EC1 theory test, you will be entitled to apply for a Category C Learner Permit. Don't waste time and money doing a C1 - go straight to the C and if you pass, you will be legally licenced to drive any size of rigid truck (whereas the C1 will limit you to a DGVW of 7,500kgs).

The actual test isn't that much different from a category B test but the theory questions at the start are usually truck related.

There is no turnabout but there is a hillstart and a reversing manoeuvre. If the examiner requests that you take the next AVAILABLE right/left, that is usually an indication that the next actual turn has a 3 tonne restriction. Look out for low overhanging branches on some roads. If your nearside mirror is slapped closed, it's considered a serious fault. Be very viligant for cyclists creeping up your nearside when you intend to turn left.
