I'm going to be a tourist in Ireland for the next 2 weeks.

In France you can pick up SIM cards in newsagents, pop them into your phone and pay-and-go.

Can I do the same in Ireland? Can I bring over my phone and get a SIM card from a shop and buy credit as I need it?

Yes. Pop into any network shop (O2/Vodafone/Meteor or Carphone Warehouse/3g/others) and just buy a prepay SIM.

Meteor will give you a free SIM (all you need to do is buy a tenner topup!).
