I was recently given a gift of this camera (with the manual adapter)

I understand the shutter speed settings and the fstops but most of the f stop symbols are missing on the ring of the adapter.
I know they usually go from f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16, f/22, and 2.8 is marked on the ring itself but the rest are missing. Also on the outside of the ring there is Lensf4, lens 2.8 and lens 2 marked. I don't really understand this and havent been able to find out online.

Can anyone help me understand this?

also, I heard this camera needs Dx coded film, is this true.
