    Hi,

I'm having a problem with my PC at home. When I connect my broadband modem to my laptop the internet works fine, but when i connect it to my PC its not working. Both the green and orange lights are flashing on the NIC, but when i try ipconfig /all it doesn't give back any IP address\subnet mask or gateway etc.
I've checked my IP settings and its set to pick up any IP address dynamically. It was able to connect to the net a few weeks ago.
I've tried disabling/enabling the connection. Not sure what else to try. any ideas would be much appreciated!! Thanks.

    Jondom

Are you sure that the broadband modem has DHCP setup. maybe the laptop has been configured to use a static IP address?

Maybe try configuring a static IP on the PC as a test? See if it can ping the router IP?

Assuming you are using the same cable to connect both PC and laptop to the router?

Have you tried reinstalling the NIC on the PC?
