We were out last night lamping foxes out in the countryside. We had one man on the lightforce striker lamp with a amber filter on and two of us with .223 rifles. I also had the wam fox call. the night was frosty and the hands and feet were frozen but we managed to get two troublesome charlies that were causing havoc in the area. One was a old fox with a beautifull tail and the other one seemed to be a year old fox. We were out for a few more hours but all we saw was bunnies. Apart from the cold we enjoued the night and we'll be out again tommorow night.
    Cheers!

I like the way ye manage the rifle jwshooter. I went out saturday nite with my shooting buddy everything set up perfect, a new ligthforce 240 my .22wmr which we zeroed in earlier that day, a mag full of 40gr bullets. We pulled up in the first field which is on the side of a big hill and there were two foxes about 80 yards from us, our hearts were racing. I set my self up on a stone wall got the first fox on the cross hair he sat lovely, i sqeezed the triger and mr fox bolted. At that stage i knew the rifle got a tip in the jeep and by god were we sick.:( Mr fox lives to tell the tail:oNext time i'm going lamping i'l nurse my rifle. Well done last nite lazolovac keep er lit.

Firstly I have to apologise for the poor quality of these pics. I don't have the same equipment that John Griffin has - just a point, click, wait for delay, and take picture camera! Driving back into my estate (that's housing by the way, not vast stretch of land) last night and there was the red lad on the green pulling worms! No fear in him whatsoever even when I pulled up beside him. I even managed to get out of the car, walk up behind him to within 10' and snap.
Of course by the time the bloody camera actually functioned he was gone.

Pity it was a Fuji and not a Sako:)

It isnt every day you'll see them like that and they rarely wait for you like that out the field when you have a gun. Nice snaps:)

With a good enough heart/lung or head shot they should drop like rocks especially with the plastic tip bullets.

Yep, went out foxing with the lads this morning (dogs & shotgun), nothing apart from a hare that passed me at a serious rate of knots :D, but the sunday morning shoot is back....... Then onto Kerry for my first deer (see hunting photos).
