    Budget: €300-€600

Needs: Nothing major, online poker probably so decent screen size/screen resolution. Otherwise it will jus be photos, downloading music etc, nothing too crazy.

Also - I plan on travelling the world in 6months time, was thinking of bringing a laptop with me, so no massive ones!

On a sidenote, would people recommend me waiting till I go somewhere in asia/australia to buy a laptop? Maybe buy a cheapish 1 now and upgrade on my travels

    Thanks in advance

Get a Dell. Cheap as chips and are grand for what you want.

It's E799 so over your budget, but it is a very high spec, so you would not need to upgrade for a long time.

It is also a good size, 16" screen, so that is not too big or small.

Check it out and see what you think.

Tbh, spending 200 over you budget on that machine is a bit pointless given your needs. Yes the spec is great on paper, but does anyone know what the quality is like on recent medion machines?

I'd be very interested in this thread also as I really want to get one.
    The cheaper the better however.
Want to be able to access the web at home, download music/films and really that would be it.
    Any recommendations?

There was a thread about laptops for poker on the poker forum recently, search for "poker laptop" and you should find it. You might find some advice there too.

Look around for a second hand hand macbook. Tough, small, easy to learn and no virus worries.
