Hi, Barcelona Bici are good and can send you to other places if all of their bikes are hired out. They're on the list that you sent through. They're different to bicing (for residents).

They sent me to another place earlier this year and they were good, no problems. It was great to cycle around, much faster than walking and better than being stuck on a bus!

    Enjoy the trip.

Hi - thanks for the info. Have you any recommended routes?

Would like to be able to stick to cycle lanes if possible, and would love to be able to cycle out to Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, but not sure if there are lanes out that far?

Hi, can't remember the names of the places we visited, but there are lots of cycle lanes and we also spent a fair bit of time cycling on the paths. There were lots of people around walking, but loads of people cycling on paths as well.

You might be able to jump on a bus with the bikes if you're going far, I'm not sure.

    Enjoy the trip.

    Just a wee update....

Hired out a bike from these guys --> http://www.travelbar.com/bike_tour.htm as I wanted to try out a Cruiser. They were really nice, and it was very quick and easy.

Got this bike (http://www.nirve.com/womens.asp?cat=cruiser) which most of you probably think is horrible but it was really comfy to ride, easy to get the hang of the back pedal brakes and good fun. The only thing is that I felt it was kinda awkward when trying to manuver it when not actually cycling.

Cycled the length of the beach and back in again along the safest cycle lanes I have ever used and then we went to the Arch de Triomphe, Bullring and Park Cituadel.

We had a local to show us around but I was very impressed at how easy and safe it felt cycling. Such a difference when the cycle lanes are properly designed and intergrated!!
