Hi there, our en suite extractor fan is constantly dripping and only started when the weather got really cold so i am thinking it is due to the hot steam gathering in the vent in the cold attic and falling back down the vent.
I have replaced the Fan, disconnected the vent from the roof to see if it was rain that was getting on but it stills drips. I wonder is it ok to remove the vent from the fan or will that cause moisture build up in the attic. The ceiling around the vent is now stanined from the water. Just wondering if anyone has this issue and what would be the next option.

Does the fan connect to a pipe that takes the air out to a vent on the soffit or somewhere else on an external wall or roof, if so try putting some insulation around this pipe - it will reduce the condensation in it.

Do NOT vent straight into the attic! it WILL cause problems.
