First one is up on IGN:

Resistance 2 is one of those games that manages to expand on its predecessor in every way. The single- player is epic in scope and in story, which is practically worth the price of admission by itself. Then you throw in the extremely engaging co-op and competitive play, which expands on replayability in just about every way possible. Toss in a generous number of unlockables, trophies and community support, and you've got a phenomenal experience. This is an exclusive that PS3 owners should be proud to have in their collection. Plus, if you're a fan of the franchise, making the decision to spend a little extra and pick up the figure, art book, Blu-ray and Wraith code will probably feel like a wise move.

2nd one does look a lot more expansive than the 1st.

I completed Resistance: FOM, for the first time last weekend. I can see how it would of been amazing at release but it's been bettered numerous times since. Still, apart from the shaky storyline (why did it need to be set in the 1950's?) and the crap, reign of fire-ish, B&W photo cut scenes it was a pretty solid game. I liked how the difficulty curve did keep scaling throughout the whole game, although the ending was a bit of an anti-climax.

Still looking forward to the second, although I would of prefered it to of been set in Europe or Russia... seeing as that's where the Crimera are coming from.

Really wasn't impressed with the first game and not too sure about the videos. Any chance there will be a demo before release, think I'd need to try that first to convince me.

Aye, they should have set it in the future. They should've bulked your character up a bit too, and put him in a big power suit...

Look forward to seeing a few more reviews, but it's looking promising so far

I wouldnt be a big FPS fan and I only got RFOM because it came as part of a decent bundle on launch day with Motorstorm, I was plesently surprised though but still a bit let down by the ending. Ill have to keep an eye on the reviews, might be worth the investment.

lol... was this sarcastic? you should of used a  at the end of your sentence. I don't want every game to be Gears of War ;)

My point was they set it in the 1950's, but there doesn't seem to be any reason for this as humans have somehow developed all these amazing weapons anyway. I mean if they are going to set it in the 1950's then keep it authentic and give us the guns soldiers had back then. Not these guns that can launch mini turrets or ones that launch a load of explosive snots everywhere.

the humans weapons were developed from the enemies ones

i thought the story was just about the only good thing in the original

The first game was an enjoyable enough shooter but it was too linear, no scope for taking a different route. Although if the second game went down the route of Far Cry 2 where you can go wandering for ages with nothing to shoot but trees, then I'd give it a wide berth.

Pity its moved to the States as I liked the european setting.
