Covering a maternity leave

I'm due to cover the maternity leave of my manager soon - no talk of compensation for this additional responsibility/work.

What am I entitled to - has anyone been in this situation and were they paid extra? I don't want to go with the rewarded in your bonus situation cos I'd be waiting over a yr to see that (if ever)...

Nothing, every thing else depends on negotiation.

I'm covering maternity leave myself. I didn't expect anything extra, although I did get more money which I saw as a bonus and was greatful for.

It's entirely up to your employer.

Personally, as companies are probably happy to let people go at the moment, I wouldn't cause a fuss...

Take the opportunity to get the experience you make youself more valuable and you could use it to find other job if needs be.
