Taunting/One Liners: Name that Game!

Game is simple: A taunt/one-liner from a well-known game is posted, the next poster answers, and gives another taunt/one-liner for the people to guess!

    I'll start:

    "It's time to split!"

Your doing it wrong! Your supposed to answer the original one, then post one yourself. Anyhoo, its from Half Life 2. Nice and easy one next.

"Look at you, Hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?"

Its Street Fights 2. You'll probably need google for this one...

Gnash them snappers, kid; I got a sock that eats like a meal. This putrid, unwashed, puss-soaked, blood-crusted sock was fermenting around a gangrenous stump of a foot for eight and half months. This is the chewiest, smelliest sock you'll ever have the luck to nosh on. And you're just a short Q&A away from suckin' this baby dry!

    An easier one...

Face ME! FACE THE NEW LORD OF MURDER!

L31mr0d's is Portal unless i'm mistaken. I'm gonna re-post mine to see if anyone gets them, and keep some sort of order going.

And this one might be too vague but... "Wake Up!"

Aren't they both from Wind Waker?

And Kiiths long one is from Anachronox.

    here's another easy one

    "You're tooo sloooooow!"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,132 ✭✭✭silvine

    Good thread.

"Wake up" and "look at me still talking when there's science to do" both sound like Half Life.

Now how about: "Wake me... when you need me" and "We have waited centuries for this moment. The rivers will flow with the blood of those who oppose us."

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Indeed. Mine were Baldurs Gate and Anachronox
    "You're tooo sloooooow!"
Smash Brothers Brawl? I also remember some arcade game that said something like that when you lost. An olympic game i think.

"Wake me... when you need me" is Master Chief from Halo 3, and the other is Kane from Command and Conquer 3 (or one of the C&C games) i think.

Hey, catch me later, I'll buy you a beer!

Alan Wake? - I heard it in the newer trailer so I'm sure it's the one correct answer.

    Isn't that from Mass Effect?

    Here are my submissions:
    Move... along!
Guy - It was easy, like shooting monkeys in a barrel.

    Lady - That's "fish" Commander.

    Guy - What?

Lady - The expression is "as easy as shooting fish in a barrel"

Guy - No no, fish?... that's not so easy... especially if they are very little fish. No, a grenade is better with fish!

Mine were both Zelda. Though the second one I just threw in as I remembered it being the first thing Navi says to you at the beginning of OoT.

"Women are like sunsets, they're beautiful but there will be a new one tomorrow, that's my motto."

It's cheesy but it's from a great game.

Sounds like Sarah Kerrigan in human form?

This is Kerrigan from Starcraft. I have the benefit (and damn pleasure) of playing through this for my first time ever recently.

Not too sure about any of the other ones, although "Wake up" is ringing some bells.

    edit...bah, beaten to it.

Nope, but it is from a game that has almost as bleak a setting as rural ireland.
