Seen the first movie a few months ago, thought it was pretty good actually.

Don't like the way it's broken up to make a few shows though.

Is the new series just the film edited?
Heard bad things about the film and really didnt like the first show in the new series

yep thats all it is. I personally loved the 2 films. Some great one liners:D

I enjoyed both films but can't quite see how they would split them up - I assume each movie works out at about 4 episodes? Watching each one as a cohesive movie works well, but splitting them at some arbitrary points would take away from the overall impact...

I really liked the bit at the start with the "Box Network" and leela saying so what does this mean for our many fans? (Surrounded by a room of air-con fans) Good I was laughung stupidly for a good 5 min.

This is benders big score split into a few episodes, which was a bit "meh" i never watched the beast with a million backs as i heard it was utter ****e.

alas, futurama. ye should have stayed cancelled.

The first movie was excellent IMO, the 2nd was awful. Just finished watching the 3rd, Benders game, and it was just weird. Quite enjoyed it though.

Only seen the first two movies, which were both pretty hit and miss. Will get around to the new one at some point, I imagine.

The movies aren't the best imo

BBS was brilliant. the beast with a million backs was a bit underwhelming, but it did have its moments. BG was quite good until they get sucked into the fantisy world. then it was just stupid. for the 2nd & 3rd films, they drop the whole Fry/Leela ship, a big mistake IMO

maybe im being optimistic but i've been hoping they get a proper season run once the dvds are out just to see if the quality of their last proper season can be maintained.

The dvds have been selling quite well, so I doubt the show will cease to exist.
Either more dvd movies, or a new series seems to be likely outcome.

I've also read that the current DVD movies are airing as a series on Comedy Central in the US, which would have more modest ratings expectations for a show to be renewed, than a bigger network like FOX - so there'd be a good chance of it getting renewed as a regular series.

based on BBS i would not like to see it renewed. so to help complete my argument, are the other two dvd's worth watching?

    Not really no.

The 2nd movie was total **** tbh.

    3rd wasn't much better.

I've liked the movies so far. However, I think the movie format hurts them as they seem to work much better as individual shows. Especially in Benders Game where there seems to be three or four large shifts in the writing.
