There's a Fallout retrospective on gametrailers if you want to get an idea of the story from the first two games.

TBH, I'm worried about what this game will be like as a Fallout game.
I'm sure it will be a good game but just not the 3rd game in the Fallout series.
It looks and seems to play very like Bethesda's other 2 games, Morrowind & Oblivion just in Fallout post apocalyptic setting.

Thanks for mentioning oblivion ,I've never played it and it seems to be fairly cheap at the moment.

    Gets great reviews aswell.

I just finished it there at the weekend, and I can tell you that it's definitely worth a purchase. Probably one of the best games I've ever played. It completely sucks you in, I had about 60 hours logged upon completion and that was with only about two thirds of the sidequests done.

It is pretty similar to Oblivion (not a bad thing) in some aspects but does manage to stay true to the Fallout series at the same time (and I'm a pretty big fan of the originals).

The only bad points for me were: Your level is capped at 20, and I found I reached this cap way too fast. If there was no cap, I probably would've gained another 10 levels by the end.

I also found the ending to be a bit of a let down, although there are a **** load of endings apparently, and this could be down to the route I took ( I was a good guy). I'll probably replay it as a complete bastard now :D
