What to wear to wedding

I've been invited to a wedding in December and I'm not sure what to wear to the thing (I'm a female btw). Problem is, I've put on a lot of weight over the past few months so I'm not as svelte as I'd like. I'm size 18 now (yeah I know I should eat less/exercise more).

To be honest, I'm not sure what to wear that won't make me look too much like a beached whale. I'm 5' 6" in height if that helps anything. What sort of dress should I get. What's the best length. What sort of sleeves? Would getting a strappy sort of dress and putting one of those little mini-cardigan type tops over it go some way towards concealing my chubby arms?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Whats your budget? Monsoon have some lovely floor lenght dresses with matching cardigans but they can be quite pricey so if your on a tight budget it would not be suitable. Your a size 18 your hardly a beached whale don't be so harsh on yourself. New Look have lovely dresses aswell and matching cardigans for under 50euro would be worth a look. Also try Debenhams they always have bargain rails aswell and i think they even have a sale at the moment.

I think a nice Maxi Dress would be lovely with a cardigan over it if you want your arms to be covered. Also you should look at dresses that tuck you in under the bust area as they highlight off your slimmest part. Nice tan and makeup you'll look fab!

Have a look on those websites they will have the things available in store on them!

    Happy shopping... :)
