Novice looking for help Could you give me advice as Santa has to get an Nintendo WII for xmas, seen one in xtravision 279 Euro with 1 game, is this the best around,
If I bought from ebay would it be a good idea, and do the WII in USA work here or Japan etc,

I picked up one yesterday in gamestop. I got the wii (which includes wii sport), an extra controller, an extra nuckchuck, Wii Play, MarioKart (edition includes Steering wheel), and any €29.99 game for €330. I though this was good value. The sales rep also threw in an extra steering wheel for me. This was not part of the deal.

I'd say you did very well there. All of that will keep you going for a good while.

Yeah hopefully so, I needed to find the best offer which included the extra controllers as it for my two lads for christmas. Aged 8 and 5, the 2 steering wheels will come in very handy too.

I bought mine for €269 last year I'd say you can find a better deal than that.

Like another reply I went for:
Wii + 2 Kunchucks + 2 controllers + 2 wheels + Wii play + Wii Sports + Mario Kart for 298 euro if you do the combination correctly.

Return the free console and take Wii Play instead, costing 5 euro. Extra wheel 13 euro on the 280 euro offer closes it at 298 euro.

Bets the identical offer of Game stop by 22 euro. Cheapest by far in the country.

Actually the offer you refer to in Gamestop has an extra 29.99 game included aswell.

    Gamestops offer is
WII including wii sport, extra Kunchuck, wii play with controller, MarioKart with wheel and any €29.99 game plus a couple of dvd titles, think its 3. for €329. The extra wheel is a tenner, but the guy in the shop threw it it for me.

So I actually got a better deal in you include the DVD titles.

Sounds good. Looks like you got a better deal. How long is that deal out? Wasn't available in Gamestop in Liffey Valley a few weeks ago when I was there. Maybe the shops are getting desperate.

    <cof> Buy a 360 </cof>

Nah, see I've a Wii and either haven't got the right games or I think I've just given up on the childish stuff that's coming out for it. (I can foresee a certain reply and yes I do have Resi 4, and yes it does kick a$$...but that's only one game from many!).

Hi guys, I'm planning on heading north in the next few weeks so is it worth me waiting to get one up there? If I do has anyone any advice on where in the north has the best value? Thanks

Two weeks ago in Smyths in Newry I got the Wii console (with Wii sports) & Wii Fit for £229.99 / €284 at the time. Smyths here in the south the same deal was round €325.

I got the wii (which includes wii sport), an extra controller, an extra nuckchuck, Wii Play, €255 (215 GBP) in Zavii in Victoria Square shopping centre in Belfast on Friday. Was told that it was the first day of the deal. I didn't see the same deal in Zavii on the main street beside CastleCourt shopping centre. I thought that wasn't too bad.
Got Mario Kart for €42 (35 GBP).
The Wii fit up north was about €95 (80 GBP)

hey all hoping to buy a wii as an xmas pressie for someone has anyone seen any good deals that are still in the shops?

Was hoping to get the wii console, extra remote and nunchuck, mario kart and an extra wheel.

might have to take a trip up the north looks much cheaper based on the websites i've looked at but if anyone saw any good deals down here i'd be very interested!

    Thanks!

Just as a passing piece of advice that I give anyone getting a Wii.
If your not getting a package deal with extra controllers and games but could do with the extra controller, buy Wii Play instead!
It's about the same price as the controller except it's nine games and comes with a controller free.

cdwow has them at a great price right now.
    Cdwow Wii Play
    Cdwow Wii Remote
Wii Play or Wii Remote are €35.99 with free delivery. It's a no brainer!

Argos.ie quotes the Wii Play price as €49.99
    Argos Wii Play
With the remote coming in at €44.99
    Argos Wii Remote

Similar to the deal I picked up in Gamestop. I posted it earlier on in this thread

I believe this deal is still on and they are now giving a couple of DVD's also.

Are they hard to get hold of?

Just told in my local xtravision (ardee, county louth) that they had none in stock and all on order were accounted for!!
