Please help

Hi, just moved into a new house and got sky plus downstairs. In the front bedroom and there are 2 cables one is the tv ariel and the other is a sky cable. Where do i put the sky cable? I only have a tv in there and is hanging on the wall so i don't really want a sky box. Is there a way to get sky in there with just that sky cable?

What i want to know is how i connect the sky cable to my tv so i can get sky upstairs. Is magic eye not just for switching programs?

Sky cable is no use without a digibox. Another alternative is to buy a freesat box and plug the cable into that. http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-23-989265 . Channel list is available here http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?page=whatson.Main . No monthly fee's involved.

Bugger. I just ran them up behind the wall and put them into a plate to go behind the tv. So if i wanted sky i need to buy another sky box or freesat box?

Not technically. The magiceye will run the feed from your skybox to the other room and allow you to view and change channels from that box in another room.

Right so do i need to have another cable from the sky box downstairs run upstairs to the other sky box?

I don't want cables running all over the house if poss.

Yes you do. In my opinion if you want a skybox and already have the cable ready then just pick up a 2nd hand one off EBAY but you will need a viewing card if you want the premium channels otherwise just by a freesat box.
