Anything is better than a plank of wood hosting it. Gerry's a decent bloke, nice to see a bit of a change.

At least he's moving - not like the other plank or boring fart.

Every other time I turn on the Late Late, its like watching night of the living dead except less entertaining.

Gerry has a great face for radio.

And once again they are buggering up the sound for a great musical act.

Turned it on after seeing this thread to see what the story is. Just some band playing atm

Is Gerry Ryan only hosting it for tonight or whats the story?

People either love or hate Gerry Ryan. He is a far better presenter than Kenny.

I was wondering if it was the sound, or them just sounding terrible!

You have to hand it to RTE: I didn't think it was possible to find a worse host than Kenny. But I had forgotten about Gerry forking Ryan. It's like finding out that you won't be executed by firing squad but will be burned at the stake instead. I see internet porn in my future.

EDIT: Just remembered, there's even worse: what if they get Turbidy to host it?! Save me, RedTube!

I dislike the man but in fairness he's better than Kenny. Thats not to say he's good either!

But who would you get to host the Late Late for tonight as Pat Kenny is unavailable???

Ray Darcy: Barely tolerable, suitable for the lovely girls competition...

Ryan Tubridy: A smug insufferable fu*kmeister.

    Miriam O' Callaghan: Yes!

    Sharon Ni Bheolain; Yes!

Fr. Brian Darcy: That would be an ecuminical matter!

"Tony, your son is dead, but I hear you don't talk about it... do you?"

Definitely better than Pat Kenny. Gives it a little bit of life

He'll do a far far better job than Pat will ever do.

No, I do think so. Pat is truly painful to watch. I cringe right through every interview he ever does.

Pat's mother died aged 89, that's why he's not on. I never liked Pat as a host. Terribly awkward and stilted interviewer. However me and my oh were in the audience on the 12th Sept-the night Trinny and Susannah were on it. Were in Dublin for the night for our 10th anniversary. We were in the front row!!! I was pure dying with embarrassment. Anyway Pat was really nice off camera, came down and chatted to the audience. Had my photo taken with him. Got to shake Jimmy Carr's hand too.:)

DOD & wife - how painful. Anyway everyone should watch so the ratings go up so kenny doesn't get renewed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,367 ✭✭✭Agamemnon

Get Colin Farrell to do it, on the condition that he's too drunk to stand first. It'd be great to watch him urinate on his guests and there'd be a dry-hump for everyone in the audience.

I'd rather see Podge and Rodge host the Late Late then that lot, they are all insufferable bores. Of course then again Late Late is boring but still bring a bit a colour to the screen.

Hell even these two would be better:)

Sitting here watching this fu*kin horse-cum, I feel like I've been dragged back to Ireland in the 1950's, looking at a pretentious f*kin muppet who has nothing to market other than his faux gay credentials...

He probably does, when there is a man's arse between his hands...

HAH! LOL at all the oldies watching the Late Late!

    Actually watching it myself :D

Very happy to see Gerry on the Late Late. Although, under the circumstances, he seems to be like a kid waking up on Christmas morning to find he's doing the Late Late.

DO'D et beard is painful though, but that's the joy of a small celeb pool here in Ireland.

So, sorry for your loss, Pat, but leave the Late Late to those that have a rapport with guests. Cue Miriam!

Richard Madely stays the same while Judy rapidly ages. Mad that.

Good job your man who accosted Pat Kenny and parked the Micra in the RTE Reception isn't around to see this...

I’m actually watching it tonight, thankfully they finally gave out the guest list ahead of time and it wasn’t all that bad, Daniel and Majella included. I often got the impression that the guest were made up of minor celebs Pat happened to bump into on the corridors of RTE just before the show. Sorry but the insufferable bore just doesn’t do it for me, I prefer him on the radio.

I don't think Snow Patrol helped, they seem to do the song in a different key to the radio version.

I saw Gerry Ryan in a helicopter taking off from the Dundalk Shopping Centre once, I forget what was going on. We were waving like fcuk and the auld bast*rd didn't wave back.

At his age you better move fast, every action you take might be literally the last thing you do.

Wow! Can anyone explain how Tony Curtis managed to get over to the Jonathan Ross show so fast?

    Weekly APPROXIMATE wage incomes:

    Pat Kenny: 16,346 Euro/week...

    Gerry Ryan: 10,730 Euro/week...
