Who's getting it? Resistance FOM was only okay so I don't know yet. Probably check the reviews first.

Resistance was excellent. I can only hope 2 is as enjoyable. I'll wait and see what the reviews are like before I decide to purchase.

Reckon I'll be waiting for the reviews on this one as well, even though the first one was quite enjoyable.
Too many other good games out at the moment to consider buying something you're not 100% sure about

I thought the first game was painfully average and the second game looks like a prettier version of the mediocrity. Waiting for reviews.

Ah Retro, I thought you have appreciated the innovative weapon design and polished gameplay.

It wasn't revolutionary by any means, but it was a well-constructed, cinematic game with some new ideas all the same.

Not an FPS fan but at least Resistance had some interesting weapons and a vaguely interesting alternate history plot, which made it worth playing through on co-op. The second one will probably be a big improvement but there's way too many other games coming out at the mo. One for the bargain bins next year.

I just didn't like the feel of the weapons. There was no feeling of impact with the weapons like you get in Gears of War or Call of Duty. You just seem to be plowing bullets into the bad guys until they keel over with no knock back or animations and they take way too much damage. They haven't changed that for the original. The feel was just all wrong, it felt like a bad PS2 shooter. Art design was nice pity it looks like a PS2 game as well. Multiplayer wasn't the best either.

However it's biggest crime was reintroducing the blob/snot/bukkake rifle from unreal. The worst and stupidest weapon ever created.

Ah but it wasn't designed or published by some small indie team. Nor was it handcrafted with love or affection.

Did you expect that he would like it?

playing through Resistance: FOM for the first time at the moment. Its getting a decidedly average "meh" from me.

But I also felt there was something else missing and retro has hit the nail on the head, the weapons just don't feel like they are making an impact. You just shoot the baddies until they fall over. There also isn't near enough recoil on the weapons.

Resistance 2 does look an awful lot prettier though so this one won't put me off trying it.

bear in mind resistance 1 is fairly old now and was a first gen ps3 game. I thought it was pretty good, the graphics were ok , towards the end it got quite difficult which i liked. I didnt like the female narrator voice though , didnt really tell you much anyway.
The multiplayer was a bit unrefined and was quickly overshadowed by the likes of cod4 etc .
If they put a solid multiplayer on 2 it should be a pretty good game.

Will be getting this defo. Loved the story from the first game. Ordered the collectors edition from VG+. I thought Gears was the worst crime for plowing bullets upon bullets before finally killing a Locust

but in gears, the recoil and the effects made it feel like you where actually shooting hunks of metal through the air. In resistance it feels like i'm just shaking a stick at the baddie until they fall over.

I understand its an old game which is why I'm going to definitely give the second installment a shot.

I saw Resistance in Gamestop today for €9.99. I'm considering giving it a shot before R2 comes out. I didn't realise Resistance had a co-op mode. That was one of the best things about Gears of War.

I played the beta a little bit. Even after playing it myself I still can't believe there's 60 player online.

Have the beta myself and I have to say I'm not overly fused with it, it's average and the graphics are very blockie looking.

I won't be rushing out to buy it.

I played the beta for about 4 hours last nite and found to co-op very adictive. I will def be buying full game at launch.

    the original was ridiculously bland

hopefully they sort it out for this one, coz the story was deserving of a better game last time round
