hey, so when i was younger, lik 16, i got jumped one nite by 3 lads. one kicked me in the balls, i went down, he kicked me in the face. grand.

but that was a friday nite, nd it was only monday nite after that the awful burning pain subsided in my belly.. all lads know it.

so anyway, now that i've grown up a bit, i'm worried.. i have a really low amount of ejaculate, if thats the word. like really low amount. and it's buggin me that somethin cud have got damaged that nite... over 3 days of that "just kicked in balls" feelin.. and it was intensely bad pain. my mum even knew about it...

so yea, i really want to have my sperm checked.. see if it's ok. how or where can i get this done? duno why but it's just really startin to worry me... im not even going out with someone btw.

Talk to your GP, I'm not sure if the GP can arrange the test, but he will know who can.

I get he impression its a matter of providing a sample in a cup and they check it from there.

Realise that most men produce very little semen - between 1.5 ml and 5 ml.

na its not even porn... i mean that alot of the time, none wud come out.

i guess the GP is the only thing to do.. i'm kinda scared to be honest. at the time i figured somethin bad happened but didnt worry much. now, if i heard back that i was firing blanks, it'd ruin me..

i'm only 21 so maybe i'm worrying too young but as i say, if over half the time, no sperm comes out, i cant help but worry. anyone know a good GP in galway?

Go to your GP and explain your concerns. They can then refer you on to do a sperm analysis test. This involves collecting a sample in a cup and dropping it off to the lab at the hospital for testing. They will be able to advise you of any issue that may or may not arise. You might be worrying for nothing and all could be fine.

On the other hand, it can happen that an injury to that area can cause some issues - in some cases, following an injury whereby sperm entered the bloodstream through a slight rupture/tear etc, your body may start to produce "sperm antibodies" which could* affect future fertility, the specific test relating to that is called a MAR test (just so you know the name and can ask your GP about it, but they generally test for all aspects of sperm mobility/motility/count etc so you don't have to specifically request one test over another).

However, don't start worrying about all that now, I'm just giving you what info I have offhand. Just go to your GP and organise this test, don't be embarrassed they are well used to dealing with all sorts of issues, and get it sorted for your own peace of mind. You may be told that you are 100% hunkydory and all the worry has been for nothing.

    * I emphasise "could", there is every likelihood that all could well and no damage has been done.

I dont know what the guys on here are telling you but if you are saying that half the time there is no sperm well that most certainly is not normal. Get yourself to your local GP pronto.
