Works good for me, luckily. Is is connecting at all to nuigwifi? Are you getting the Cisco authentication page?

weakish network card maybe? I think the signal is a lot stronger in the IT building than anywhere else.

what exactly happens when you try to connect in the Cairnes?

as far as network is concerned, I get connected at full signal strength, I think I connect to NUIGalwayWIFI or something like that. But I cant browse the internet.
The login page that you refer to above, popped up the first time I used wireless in the IT bldg, I put in my ID and password and it all worked fine. Then I brought my laptop down to Cairnes and no go.

sometimes you have to manually put in the URL for the verification thing, the redirect seems hit and miss. and make sure it is the NUIGWifi you're connecting to. every building seems to have a sh*tload of different networks, usually for staff.

book mark the URL, i can't remember it. that's probably what happened, the redirect didn't go through.

wcon1.nuigalway.ie? Then there's some reference to http://1.1.1.1? Odd IP!

Noticed you have to wait a little while longer lately before you can authenticate in the first place. Having another browser window open causes havoc as well. Turning off wifi (airport :pac:) and then turning it on again should solve most issues.

I am based in Cairnes and I find that sometimes I can connect to NUIgalwayWIFI but eventually if you keep disconnecting and reconnecting it will eventually work.

Well nobody is in college at the moment so it will be very fast at the moment. Might go in one of the days to download some ISOs. Been meaning to get a few linux distros downloaded to try out.

This was around exam time, on wi-fi. Downstairs if that helps.

Same story really. Not everyone is in college during exam/study week. In the I.T. building if you are in early in the morning, round 8 or half 8 the Wifi is really fast. Once people start coming in for the day it slows down.

Same in the corrib village, it takes absolutley ages to load in the evening (like 5 minutes for a 1 minute youtube video in the evening), but is unbelieveably fast at the weekends.

Ya you can connect with an iPhone. When you launch safari it'll redirect you to the normal log in page.
