Don't those "west brits" fine gael and their puppy dogs, Labour, just sicken you.

They never pointed out to Fianna Foul, over the past 10 years, that their economy policy was flawed. Now they are trying to make out that they know better and are the answer to our prayers. What a bunch of chancers making a laugh out of people.

Pure scum the lot of them!!! :pac:

I've little hope that any political party in Ireland can bring significant positive change

"West Brits", the Irish version of Godwins law.

And they did criticise the economic policy of the previous and current governments in post budget speeches, at election time, on current affair shows. You just decided not to pay any attention.

    Totally agreed

Fianna Fail = Fine Gael under different colours = waste of time

Its obvious that Democracy doesn't work in this country

But sure they are all a shower ao w*nkers.

I think there should be a rule that if you WANT to be a politician you shouldn't be allowed to.

we need a new political party imo. fine gael and fianna fail are more or less the exact same as far as i can tell, i.e. both pretty useless! as for the others, let's not go there!

Finally someone bitchin' about these people. I'm absolutely not a FF-er but hearing these other lads go on about how they wouldn't have let this happen... it's a global thing ffs!
I hate that they're using this to get votes. Yea, I think we need a new party. Anyone in?

Or maybe they did point it out, but nobody was listening, perhaps because given a choice between one side saying "let the good times roll, we're the Celtic Tiger and the 2nd richest country in the world" and the other saying "lets cut back on A and B, watch how we spend our money and save for a rainy day", the people want to believe the good times will never end and in a seeming boom, if one side seems to have cash to splash around on everything and the other side says we need to spend and borrow less, people will say "we're in a boom, why not enjoy it ?". Its a moot point now anyway.

Fianna Fail went on a spending binge in the late 70s/early 80s too and that didn't end well either. Lesson not learned.

Where did you read that? The rhetoric is surprisingly original, coming from a hard-core republican (or have I just been out of the country too long...?).

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Do you have any idea how much the cost of soy milk has gone up under this new green government? These new taxes are anti vegan recycling cyclists and no mistake.

So if its a global thing, then presumably they had a property bubble in every European country ? No, I wonder why not. Maybe it might be due to stricter banking regulation and proper planning laws.

brendan, we're trying to discuss politics on AH, so if you're going to say things like that, try to conduct yourself in a manner reflecting a degree of intellectual subtly

I did cringe when Enda Kenny gave his passionate speech to the crowd today... Barack Obama he aint. Get rid of that eejit and get someone in with a bit of charisma. Pat Kenny is more interesting than Inda.

More fault on the students for letting their protest be molested and buggered by Eamon Gilmore and Enda Kenny.

Your dead right Dave. Worse still, was when Eamon Gilmore got up to give his oration, Jasus Christ our founding fathers must be spinning in their graves...
