On loads of review sites for makeup etc, I've seen loads of people describe their skin or complexion as something like 'NC25' or 'NC33' .... what the hell does it mean?:p

I've tried to google it, but nothing ...... !

    Somebody please explain! Ta :pac:

    Hi OP,

NC or NW is how MAC code their products like foundation, concealer or powder. C - is for cool tones, and W is for warm skin tones. And the higher the number like NW40 the darker the shade of make up

    Hope that makes sense :)

That NW20, etc talk is exclusive to MAC.

The W is for warm skinn tones and the C is for cool skin tones.

The C ones will have a more yellow tint while the W's will be more pink.

I'm quite pale and wear NW20 normally and then use NC30 when I'm wearing fake tan as then my face matches the rest of my body.
