    Hi all,

I'm trying to setup Remote Record on my SKY HD box, but when I try to register the box, it trys to dial out and I get an error saying connection has been interrupted (error no.107).

When I do a system check - it says telephone connected.

    Any ideas?

    sounds like a voip line.

i have the same issue..i have magnetover a fiber optic cable.

have never manageed to get the 2 sky boxes to dial out. (same error message as OP).
neither Sky nor magnet have ever been able to help fix the issue.

    I have Eircom broadband alright.

I tried my Sky + box lastnight and it dialled out no problem. However I'm still getting error 107 on the HD box.

Sky don't / can't dial "into" the box. If they need to check the status of a multi-room setup, they send a signal in the broadcast stream from the satellite and the box dials out.

If the OP finds that his SKY+ box is dialling out correctly on the same phone line and the SKY HD box is not, then possibly there is a dialling prefix set up incorrectly in the HD box or there is no broadband filter on the connection that the HD box is using - perhaps?

I initially got sky without the phone and paid 37.50 extra. After some reading I found out my digiweb metro line may be compatible so I called sky and they verified and refunded the payment on my account. Now about a month later it can't dial out to enable remote record so they must have only dialled in to check the box was there and for some reason it can't dial out. I have checked the line and it is working for normal telephony.

Is your landline ex-directory?? If you you might have to add 142 to your telephone setting on the box.

Access this by pressing services on the remote
    then press 4
then press 0, 1 then select to access hidden menu

enter telephone settings and put in 142 so your telephone no is sent when making a callback...

Again.... SKY can't dial in to your SKY box ;). They send a signal over the air to the box and then, if they don't get a callback from the box, they assume it's not connected to a phone line.

As steveon says, if you have an ex-directory line, you need to ensure the 142 prefix is set to disable the "hiding" of your number when the box dials out to SKY. If you have broadband, make sure the SKY box connection plugs into a filter, not directly into the phone socket.
