    Hey Guys,

Where in Europe would be a good place to go to get winter sun in December?

Would really like to get away from the rain/cold for a week or two.

    Thanks,
    M

in europe the very far south of italy (south of naples) gets average temperatures of 18 degrees in december

malta is another option its on average 20 degress but it december is one of the wettest months of the year there with and average 10cm of rain in the month, dublin by contrast gets 8cm

outside of europe florida, california, dubai, australia,

I am looking for similar myself. Dont wanna go too far afield as then things get price-ier! Dont wanna end up in Spain/Portugal though!!

Not Europe but Dubai gets my vote. I'm off in a few weeks. 25-30 decrees in Novemeber - december. Flights can be had for €400-500 if you watch out for deals.

There is one crowd I see advertising cheap flights to Dubai on the back of dublin busses, maybe someone else can remember who?

We got a very cheap last minute deal to the Canaries (Lanzarote) the week before Christmas last year and had a great time and met some wonderful people. Stayed in Puerto del Carmen, bars and restaurants were not too busy and gave you a chance to chat with other holiday makers and get to know the owners.

Booked two tours while there, shopping in Playa Blanca and the Timanfaya Volcano/Camel ride. The tour guide said it only rained 5 days in the year and guess what we got 3 of them, the shopping tour was cancelled as it was too wet and we were literally saturated on the camel ride, otherwise it was fantastic and we are thinking of going back again this year, gluttons for punishment. :)

Thinking of Lanzarote myself, that or Egypt - just for a week before Xmas, some good bargains to be had.
