PC to rear projection TV debaucle! HELP!!!!

    Hi GuysSome tech advice would be really appreciated here


    ive got an ibm thinkpad T61, im using the monitor out cable to connect to a Vivitek rear projection TV (60 inch i think).


    The problem is when i swith to the input i want, front RGB it comes up unavailable.now if i start windows in safe mode it comes up, although pretty useless as you can imagine. So i assume i need a driver for that monitor?Problem is ive crawled the net to no avail, is there a generic one i could use? by theway it doesnt say new hardware detected either???any taughts? help?

    I'm not sure i understand the problem 100%, but ill give it a go...

    it sounds like you are connecting the laptop via svideo out to composite in?
    can you confirm the connections etc...

    you dont need a drive for the tv, just a driver for the graphics card.
    if you press the "fn" key and the "f8" key at the same time, does the laptop switch ouptuts?

    I think i can get the PC connected with a little bit of tuning, thanks by the way...

    now im trying to get an Argosy media box connected to the same TV, using the video out (red white yellow cables) all i can get is sound. maybe i need to fiddle with the TV im not to sure yet.

    My question is: does anybody have the software that came with the media box to configure it? I bought it as i saw it on the bargain thread a while back but cant find the disc...
