    hi guys,
hoping some one out there can help me,
i have a new alarm system,
fitted and working fine with a dialler fitted,
this works from the land line,
it calls me no prob when alarm is triggered but i cannot get it to text me !
the installer could not figure it out either,
i have 2 numbers for sms centre
    17409900
    0818365135

    the dialler gives options of
    blind dialling
    pulse dialling
    pulse after 3
    7,e,1 data
    and quick text

when i try to send a test text i can hear the dialler call the sms centre and then the line sounds as though its engaged ?
dialler cant communicate with sms centre then and aborts ?
    any ideas guys ?
its a texecom speech and text dialler by the way,
if anyone knows then please help !
    lol

I am not sure why it needs an SMS centre number. If it sends a text to a mobile number then it goes to your service providers SMS centre.
Maybe try entering O2 & vodafone s numbers

    hi again,
the dialler sends the text message to the landline provider,
its then transferred from there onto the mobile,
just cant get it to communicate with the sms centre !
    :(

Have you checked those numbers with your provider?

    yep,
can send message from house phone no problem,
    just not from dialler

I've had similar problems with text modems from UK manufacturers.
One work around is to use the BT sms centre on 0044795887988. Calls to this work out at about 20c each.

    thanks jnealon,
    will try that tomorrow !
    fingers crossed,
i have broadband in the house too,
i dont have a filter fitted to dialler though,
just phone line connected directly to points on the dialler,
would this cause the problem ?
