I got data in the post a few days ago and had forgotten about it. I know it will be a wee bit late for some people depending on what part of the country you're in but Kingspan have organised a series of seminars on different dates around the country in relation to "Building the Energy Efficient Home".

Pre-registration is required and forms & details can be downloaded from here

If anyone cant get the details PM an email address and I will forward a copy of the registration leaflet.

They should not be endorsed on here either.
I would strongly advise you to withdraw that remark.

I don't understand, i thought forum rules prevented posters from endorsing companies or products by name. If i'm wrong consider remark withdrawn.

Where do you see the endorsement?

I was under the impression that by naming a particular company/product was considerd endorsing/advertising.

If you read through this forum, you will find that certain companies will get named regularly such as Kingspan, Quinn etc to name a couple. The reason for this is that companies such as these have a strong presence and are known by 99.999% of the people here.

What we will not tolerate here is somebody coming on here and posting comments that could be deemdd libellous about any company. Remarks like these have a tendency to get boards.ie in legal difficulties.

With this in mind, I have edited your original post and given you an infraction. Please read the charter and previous threads in this forum.

My apologies, i understand these companies are mentioned on occasion to describe a product etc. the point that i was making was that this company is mentioned on boards.ie in such a way so as to increase attendance at their seminars where they promote theirs and only their products. I just gave my experience of attending one of these seminars last year, i really don't think there is anything libellous here, again if i'm missing something, i apologize.

It would appear that you can get away with mentioning everybody but w*nd*w companies.
The event at the Stillorgan Park Hotel was rather entertaining. All the speakers were banging on about sustainability and reducing energy consumption and then they finished off with somebody who appeared to be advocating plasma TVs in everyroom! I also learnt about 'effective' u-values for w*nd*ws which is a fascinating concept.

    Would you care to elaborate?

IMO its good to go to all these seminars, hopefully learn something new. Naturally the company will push there product but I'm an adult and I decide what I purchase.

Attend the competitors seminar also or meet their Sales Rep, then by speaking to all you can make your own mind up.:)

    Yes - spot on.

If anyone is gullible enough to buy everything they are being told to by sales people then God help them. You look, listen and keep you wallet in your pocket until such time as you have info on ALL products.
