Sorryif this thread has been brought up before, im a member of total fitness castleknock and they have moved the entrance to the main road between scotts roundabout and the main m50 roundabout!! basically its a real challenge trying to get out at all but getting across to the far lane (i live in blanch) is nearly impossible at times. Any other members on here experiencing the same thing? Obviously they had no choice but its gonna hurt them if people get sick of it and look at the alernatives.

Basically i wont be renewing my membership over this as have emailed head office trying to cancel early as its a hassle i dont need considering westpoint is closer to me anyway and cheaper, shame as i quite liked the gym but it noticeably quieter the past month or so.

    Rant over.

God it's not THAT bad, certainly not bad enough to leave the gym over!!!

I usually just pull out into the M50 when I can see a gap coming in the middle lane. From their I go straight thru the roundabout, but getting across to the inside lane's no problem, I've done it a few times before too. And that was at peak hours!

LOL. It can be a bit ropey at times alright. I believe it's temporary though. There's plans for bridges and all kinds of crap there I think. I also have to get to the rightmost lane as quickly as possible but I use the left M50 north lane (usually empty) to get up some speed before wildly swinging across.

    Guys,
I did hear that TF wanted a yellow box and/or lights at the new exit and it was supposed to be provided. Not sure why it wasnt and even heard talk of TF taking legal advice over this. So if it's true, they cant really be blamed completely for the situation.

    I do the exact same...

It's definitely not the worst junction out there!

There is a set of lights just before the junction that have been there for yonks, it'd be handy if they were moved up as far as the new entrance before all the work finishes.

I also heard that the actual entrance into the building was going to be moved to where the free weights section is now and that the weights would be pushed right back to where the stretch area/salon is now but that doesn't seem to happening, seeings as they've already started work on the new cafe in the same place as it was.

If the new cafe in Castleknock is as "good" as the one in Malahide... enjoy it. :P

Though I do walk to and from the gym in less than three minutes so I 'spose I should've be complaining!

Anything would be better than the old one!!!

I was told it was going to be like the one in Sandyford.

I disagree its a pain in the a&se and dangerous considering that i need to get right across to the far lane. I still go to the gym but have had to stop going after work as getting out in rush hour is a nightmare.

On a side note is the gym a bit quieter recently? i know my missus who used to go 4 nights a week for a swim has stopped going due to this. She is still exercising and is choosing to go for a walk every evening instead.

She stopped going cos it was quieter?

Do you work for a rival gym?

She stopped going because she couldnt face trying to get out after she had finished.

Why would i work for a rival gym? i said i like the gym and have not promoted anybody except to say that the other local gyms are a bit cheaper which isnt exactly a secret now is it.

Why do people feel the need to be a smartarse? if you have nothing to contribute then dont bother.

God man it isn't that bad. It certainly doesn't be on my mind when I'm leaving. You need to change lanes all the time driving around Dublin. You don't have to get to the right lane straight away if you're swinging back to Blanch. Just get into the middle lane then change lanes when you're on the roundabout and the traffic isn't as bad.

Like I said use the left lane to get up to the same speed as the traffic then make your way across. If you're trying to come out of the exit across 3 lanes straight away you WILL die.

Lol your advice has been noted kevpants, the issue may be that i learned to drive up north were people generally tried to be in the right lane while entering a roundabout as changing lanes on it isnt exactly a clever thing to do. maybe if i got my license out of a cracker like some people down here it wouldnt bother me;)

Im only messing by the way before people jump all over this as an ivitation to start an argument

Perhaps you should heed your own advice Jaysoose.

This isn't a Fitness issue. Closed.
