I am thinking of booking Tignes for christmas week - is it as snow sure as you get in Europe for that time of year? thanks!

    Yes, its pretty Snow Sure.

I went in early December last year and the whole resort was Open and covered in snow.

I would consider it a safe bet

Yes, you are pretty much guaranteed good snow cover in Tignes. There is a glacier with lots of skiing, but the whole Espace Killy is pretty high, so barring a freakishly dry next two months there will be good snow at altitude. I'm heading to Val d'Isere on 26th Dec and am expecting plenty of snow.
A high precentage of the area is covered by artificial snow making too.

That time of year, definitely snow sure. I've skied there a few times New Year's Week. It's also full of Brits, but if you pretend you are French, they'll ignore you.
