    Go to your doctor?

Did you use contraception? If yes, what kind? If no, did you get the morning after pill?

Stress can make your period late. Often freaking out about being pregnant results in a later period due to stress. False negatives are possible with home pregnancy tests, so get yourself to the doctor for a definite result.

I'd be more concerned if I was having cramps and no period, it's very common to feel them in early pregnancy - It's prob just delayed. Is your chest sore? Are you peeing more often? Are you nauseous? If no is the answer to all these along with the fact that you've had two negative test results, I think it's highly unlikely that you're pregnant. Try not to worry.

Hmm,i'd disagree.she would probably not be getting these symptoms just yet.As for the neg test,if in fact you are pregnant, it may just be that the hormone level is not high enough to register on the test(this is a lot more common than people think).Get to the doc for a more thourough test.Best of luck!

The normal time for having 'false' cramps are around the time your period is due. I've had 7 pregnancies (unfortunately only two made full term) and I felt cramping for the first few weeks.
Most pregnancy tests are designed to register pregnancy hormones within a few days after the first skipped period. Very unlikely at 5 1/2 wks pregnant to have two negative results. If the hormone level isn't very high, a faint line is likely to appear, but that would be normal when it's as early as the day you're due.

She only had sex 3 weeks ago.

Weeks of Pregnancy is counted from the first day of the last period rather than from conception date.

Doc's just date your pregnancy from the first day of your last period so if she went to the doc now and found she was pregnant, taking into account that she says she's a week and a half late and that she has a 28 day cycle , she would be told she was 5 and a half wks pregnant.

Sorry littlebug, didn't see your post.

OP I would echo what the others have said ie go to your gp for a test. It would be unusual to have two negative tests at this stage but not impossible. For your peace of mind you need to know one way or the other asap. Good luck.

While i'd agree that every girl/pregnancy is different, i know of several women who havn't gotten positive tests until well into their pregnancies!(freaked right out when i heard that!) While it doesn't happen to most women, it does happen.

Wow! I would've said that was mad unusual. Am well surprised you've known several people it happened to. I know one girl who had a very faint line at 6wks but miscarried within a day or two. The doc said the faint line was a sign that it wasn't a strong pregnancy.

Up until recently i would've been with you on that!but my aunt has three kids and NEVER had a positive test(really!) and a mate is pregnant now after getting a false negative.
