I'm sure this has been answered but a quick search yields no results.

So, easy enough question. Do you have to be a UK citizen to join the police force?

Thread moved to the PSNI Recruitment. Someone may be able to help you here.

    No.

    From http://www.policecouldyou.co.uk/officers/eligible_details.html
    Nationality requirements

You must be a British citizen, an EC/EEA national or a Commonwealth citizen or foreign national with no restrictions on your stay in the United Kingdom.

Foreign nationals and UK citizens who have lived abroad may have to wait some time for security and vetting clearance. All applicants have to be vetted to the same standard before appointment.

As stated, no you don't, however forces require you to be living in the UK for three years prior to applying. PM me if you have any specific questions.

    Go for british police!
The recruitment process is so much better, you know what your doing and how well you have done.
They don't keep you in the dark waiting like PSNI and if bottle green isn't your colour then black deffinately is!! :)
The fitness test is incredibly easy too!
