Car Tax

    Hey i'm just wondering what i need to get my car taxed. I bought it privately not so long ago and i have just got the registration cert back. I have also got a letter from the guards saying it has been off the road since i got it

    ....and be prepared for a long queue in the motor tax office. There's always some do do that has forgotten one or other of money, insurance cert, Garda Form, VLC.

    Then remember to save yourself the hassle & tax it on http://www.motortax.ie the next time. This is a brilliant service by the way.

    You can't use motortax.ie if you are registering a used car that you've bought for the first time you have to go into the tax office:(

    Also, do you need to bring your vehicle registration cert as well as the RF100 form and your cert of insurance?

    I find the local tax offices are very good, I normally get a disc back within 2 or 3 days.
