Hi, just got a PSP 3000 today but cant seem to connect it to my network.
i went throught the network setting process, but when i try to test the connection i get the following messege :

A connection error has occured. The attempt to obtain the IP address timed out.

i have searched online all day but the options i get to solve it are :

is the wlan turned on the PSP?
is your wireless router able to accept band G?
have you entered the mac address of the PSP into the router?

i have a dlink dl-524 router and in the admin menu i cant seem to find an option to allow it to accept band g etc.

I am not familiar with the new PSP only the older one, with that your just get it to search for your wireless network when it detects it should ask for WEP Key or what ever security you have on the router, just enter the key and follow the instructions, much like connecting a PC to your router.

Have you enabled MAC filtering on the router?
Have you tried setting a static IP address on the PSP (If it's an option)?

Check the number of IP address the router is giving out i.e start and end range, on mine for example (see picture) its giving out 8, if you have a number of devices attached they may all be used. Hence the PSP can't get one

at any one time i only have my laptop connected to it, but in the last couple of months i have connected my nokia N95, my mates ipod touch and my sisters laptop and my mates laptop for an hour or so, so maybe it still has their IP address loged into the router, i will mess about with it again tonight (in work now)

    thanks
