Cognitive -Sensation & Perception essay help?

    Not looking for too much help but i guess anything may help. I have to write an essay about doing a hearing test on the following
    A good friend is concerned that she might be going deaf. She contacted you because she heard that you knew how to measure the limits of sensation. She does not want to go to the doctor unless her hearing is impaired, so she wants you to find out the softest noise that she can hear in order to compare it with a typical woman of her age.
    Describe a short experiment, based on the types of experiments you have heard about in your lectures, that you would use to measure the softest noise an individual can hear.


    Provide an introduction to the concept of a threshold
    Describe different ways in which thresholds can be measured
    Describe your own experiment briefly
    Give an example of the sort of results you would expect
    Provide detail on why you chose to design the expt. the way you did
    Provide a conclusion putting your “results” in context

    Just looking is there any ideas people can think of that i could adapt or attemt to find suitable for my essay? Is there any sources people would reccomend either to read more (either a book, internet source or others?) Not looking to get the essay done for me now. Genuinely just wondering is there anything people would reccomend. Thanks in advance.

    I think the key element of the question is "based on the types of experiments you have heard about in your lectures".

    Read over your notes for clues.

    I have and i am not particularly stuck on any part was really just hoping that someone may be able to give some personal input that they have used or have read/heard about that would fit into this essay:)
