has anyone suggestions on or contacts for a wedding ceremony for a irish-polish wedding, my fiance is polish and I want to get the ceremony in polish and english, as not many of his family speak english. ,

any other ideas to make the day for both sides good are welcome, im getting the invitations and menus in both languages.

I shot a wedding recently where the couple are Italian. Their parents speak very very little English and what they did was to find a priest that spoke Italian and had the mass book done in both languages.

Left side in Italian and the right side was the English version. It was a great help for the non Italian speaking friends that were there and it was very easy to follow.

An alternative would be to just get married by an Irish priest as normal, then perhaps in the hotel you could get a 'blessing/short ceremony' from a Polish priest? Might be easier to organise ....

14 High Street Dublin - there is a Polish church with Polish masses and Polish priests.

All of Polish priests speak English as well , so they can celebrate mass in both languages.

I had my wedding over there just few weeks ago

U choose which languagge u want to hear first , which parts of mass will be in Polish or English or both.
u can have somebody who will sing church song in Polish - and second person - in English

You could get married in the Register Office they allow the vows to be said in English and a second language as in your case, you can also have reading in different languages too as long as there is no religious content.

Like Mike I shot a bilingual wedding, groom was irish and bride colombian. They found a missionary priest who spke spanish. I know he lived in a large house at the top of Baggot Street and said there was a few living there. I'd say if it is a church wedding it is more likely a missionary priest that will have the language. Another option is to have the service in english and readings etc in Polish, you could do your vows in Polish too if you wanted.

I have tpo say though I thought it was beautiful, even though I did not always know what the priest said it as still very magical, even though I was only the photographer.
