Can any mod care to tell me why the thread

after my last post was closed ??

While I wasn't the one that closed it, dragging up threads that old (14 months since previous posts) is generally frowned upon on Boards, and BBs in general.

As there's no rule specifically against it however, and nothing preventing discussion of transmission sites (as long as your not planning to go out and damage them, or something) then feel free to start a new thread on the subject.

I know the rules and what can and cannot be discussed.

I thought maybe the over eager mod that closed the thread would be more familiar with the rules.

This was one of the most informative threads on this board.Most of the information is still applicable.

Why anyone would 'frown upon it' i just cannot understand.

I'd imagine the poster was trying to avoid ridicule by someone spouting off about a thread being already available on the subject without starting up a new one. They made the effort in trying a search first.

It's an old thread and while TX sites in general are acceptible to discuss, one has to question why most people would want to know about MMDS sites since only UPC can legitmately install/Adjust MMDS gear.

The OP poster has various Wireless Interests otherwise that thread might have been closed. Most of the discussion was of a general overall nature rather than a HowTo to do your own (illegal) MMDS reception.

The new post had little or no relevence to the original discussion. If Glos is needing an install that is up to UPC.


The thread is still there to read and information still accessible.

While I respect you for your technical "know how" and the endless input you have on this site (I am a long time lurker), i think your reply above is demeaning, inconsistant and presumptious.
You are making assumptions about the nature of my query, bascially putting words into my mouth.

If you were to adhere to the your own guidelines and continue making similar assumptions, to be consistant,I fear you would have to close the majority of the threads on this forum.
