Playing pool in Dublin?

Does anyone know of a nice place to play pool (not snooker) around Dublin? I've been living here for a month but have yet to just walk into a pub with a few tables.

I live in Dundrum, but the city centre is an easy commute. I'm just looking for nice table and cues, a good atmosphere, and a pint.

    Thanks for any info.

Not sure on the name, but on Lower Rathmines Roads, a few doors down from Tramco. Thats nice, but no booze though.

There isn't any pool or snooker tables in there anymore, all replaced by gambling / games machines of some sort. A few doors down though there's Ned Kellys, mostly gaming machines in there these days too, but there's still a few pool tables down the back.

Does that Four Provinces Pub in Renelagh still have a few tables? There's a real lack of pool tables in pubs in Dublin...

Most of the pool tables in pubs around dublin have long gone, along with the dartboards etc.... Replaced by stools and tables. Now that business is crap in the pub trade I'd be hopeful of a return of the aul bar games

Yeah let's hope so. It's always handy having a pool table to break the monotony when you get stuck talking to that boring chap who tells the same stories over and over again...

    *Bump*

I've got a few friends from over the water coming to town this weekend and we're looking for some stuff to do to fill the days. Have any pubs in the City Centre brought back the their pool tables in recent times?

Yes there is. The Camden Palace bar on Wexford Street. A few doors up from Whelans pub. Its a pub and a pool hall. There's loads of tables. You pay a €20 deposit for the table & balls and play for as long as you want. The price is deducted from the deposit on return of the balls. Its open late... 2.30am I think. Best pool hall in Dublin!
