    Hey,

I'm have a question about Coloured Contact Lenses guys...
I only want coloured lenses for asthetic reasons as I have perfect vision....vain I know but who cares....!

I found a website that supplies them without proof of a prescription! I was about to order them when I got to this page of the order form:

    http://www.yourlenses.ie/kassa.php?id=472

The problem is that I have no idea what numbers to select in Section 1 where it says:

    Left eye
    POW-6.00-5.75-5.50-5.25-5.00-4.75-4.50-4.25-4.00-3.75-3.50-3.25-3.00-2.75-2.50-2.25-2.00-1.75-1.50-1.25-1.00-0.75-0.50+0.00 8.3 14.0 COLBlueHoneyGreenGray 0 box1 box2 boxes3 boxes4 boxes5 boxes6 boxes Right eye
    POW-6.00-5.75-5.50-5.25-5.00-4.75-4.50-4.25-4.00-3.75-3.50-3.25-3.00-2.75-2.50-2.25-2.00-1.75-1.50-1.25-1.00-0.75-0.50+0.00 8.3 14.0 COLBlueHoneyGreenGray 0 box1 box2 boxes3 boxes4 boxes5 boxes6 boxes

Could someone who has contact lenses explain what these mean and which number I should enter given I only want the lenses for asthetic reasons? Don't want to mess my eyesight up!!

    Thanks Guys!!

I would be VERY reluctant to buy contact lenses online if I wasn't used to them. You need to be shown by a professional how to safely put them in and take them out. You could seriously damage your eyes if you don't know what you're doing. Also, you need to be fitted for lenses. One pair does not fit all.

Use contact lenses myself and believe me you need classes on how to put them in and get them out, try specsavers had a free one in there.;)

Oh I have been to the optician...I went 2 years ago and did the whole eyetest thing and got my first lenses though the optician! Its just that I rang for more and he said I need to have another eye test cos its been years bla bla bla

I know how to use contacts ive just never ordered them for myself online!

The +3.00 etc means the strength of the lenses, so for plain you'd want +0.00.

They'll probably ask for curvature etc as well when you go to order. Also some places online ask for a copy of your prescription from your optician before they'll process the order as if you get the wrong curvature etc on the lenses you could damage your eyeball or at least they'd be very uncomfortable/wouldnt stay in.

Yeah the great thing about this site it you just have to confirm you have seen an optician they dont ask for a prescription!

As far as I can tell they only have one type of Curvature so i presume theres a standard!

definatly wouldnt mess around when it comes to eyesight. you dont want to do irreversible damage for the sake of a few extra quid to get a place like Specsavers to sort you out!
