With respect to non paid parking fines and court fines, what in other peoples experience, have you recieved from court?

In respect of Court fines the judge will usually impose a fine of € x and give a certain amount of time to pay and will also order 'time in default' i.e time in the nicker for not paying. So a Judge would say something like: "€500 Fine, 28 days to pay and 30 days in default", meaning pay the fine within 28 days or go to jail for 30 days. If you don't pay a Court fine eventually the local Gardai will call to your door at an ungodly hour of the morning and drag you off to the Joy, which is not surprisingly when most defaulters have a change of heart and pay up.

I showed up recently in court for an unpaid parking fine. The fine was increased to €100 and I also had to pay €100 costs. Other drivers who never bothered showing up had the fine increased to €150, so €250 in total for them.

I think what's you were trying to ask?
