Watched this abomination of a movie last night. Truly awful. Why is Sutherland playing Jack Bauer in everything he does since 24????

While there was some potentially nice elements for exploiting with the movie, it failed on every level.

Its not "wrong turn 2: Dead end" bad, (Although Rollins was a legend in that movie!) but its definitely up there.

I hope that The Unborn pumps some life in the already lifeless horror genre.

Indeed.. watched it last weekend and thought it was pretty woeful.

What has happened to the once promising Alexandre Aja?!

    But
    Amy Smart's death scene
    was pretty inventive.

Yeah not great... I have the Japanese original (Geoul sokeuro) lined up for a long flight today, so I'm looking forward to seeing a good version of this movie. :)

Im pretty sure there was an older horror movie with a similar, if not the same death, but i cant think of it at all. Maybe im confusing it with Saw?

went to see Mirrors on Tuesday and was very disappointed that it was cut. The leaked DVD rip has far more violence than the version we got over here.

I did'nt mind the film, in fact I wuite liked it and the ending was great but every time Sutherland was on screen I kept waiting for him to call for Michele.

I thought it was alright until the last half hour or so, when it became downright woeful.
The fight scene between Kiefer and the possessed nun was laughable.

I liked it. I thought it had a nice creepy atmosphere the whole time. Ive just seen a bit of a leaked copy and its unbelievable how much was cut out!! Why did they do this?

I thought it was wierd that it was rated 18's on the cut we have here, is it anyway possible that rating is based upon a different cut? Aside from the Amy Smart scene - which in itself features in plenty of 16 and even 15A features these days - there was a staggering lack of violence or expletives. So why the 18's rating??

    Decent film though, I thought.

Thats a good point and i forgot to reference the rating in my original post. I remember during the film trying to decide why the rating was applied. The only conclusions i could come up with was the
    graphic "suicide" scene
at the start and the involvement with children in the violence. But i guess that is kinda scraping the bottom of the barrel there!

    Ah you're just bein silly!

    He'd call Chloe ;)

Saw this last night and it was absolutely crapola

and same here tryin to suss out the rating, the fact is was 18s made me look forward to it more

but I dont think its the amount or exessiveness of the violence as opposed to the reality of it [as was said, suicide, kids etc]

Sure Dog Soldiers is only 15s :O !

    I thought it was a great thriller\horror. Although i haven't seen much of 24!
Although i do agree with Necronomicon's above spoiler.

Very tense, great CGI and not overly disturbing.
    The ending was good too.

But, whats with all these remakes of Asian flicks? Come up with something yourselve's you useless overpaid bastards! Leave the originals as they are. Although im sure someone will quote this and show a movie where the remake was better than the original...

And.. what sort of ejjit would
go back to a mental freakhouse old, burnt out rickety ass building to once again get lit on fire or see burn victims... After the first time it just seems a bit retarded.
