Dermalogica - Is it what it's cracked up to be?

    Hi guys!!

I am considering buying Dermalogica products for my skin. Does anyone here have any experience of the product range? Would you rec a Dermalogica facial in a beauticians before buying?

I have normal skin, which can get very dehydrated and also oily! I know, not the typical skin type!

I also find that my skin gets a little red and sensitive if i use products every single day or if i use make up eveyday. As a result I try not to wear make up during the day.

I have been using Lancome facial products up until now which i find quite good but i fancy a change.

Also how would people rate Clarins facial products against Dermalogica?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    :-)

your best bet is going into the beauticians and getting them to look at your skin or do a "face mapping" as dermalogica call it - they might recommend different products for different parts of your face. My flatmate uses dermalogica and finds it great but its a bit above my budget! I have their multivitiman face mask which is great though. My flatmate usually gets a good few samples off her beautician when she buys something off her so might be no harm in asking for these before you start out.

Thank you! It is quite expensive. My friend is going over to the Sates soon so I plan to get the stuff through her. Will prob go to a Beauticians before then. The reason i posted the thread is to find out if people were satisfied the product. I have heard of a few people who had bad break outs but i guess everyone is different and perhaps they were using the wrong type of cleansers...etc

I used to use dermalogica's soothing range. It did help reduce my redness and sensitivity. However I don't use dermalogica any more as their products are full of disturbing chemicals.

Hey thanks for your post Storm Warrior. What would you rec in place of Derm products? I am trying to steer away from products that are bad for my skin. I am also trying to purchase Bare Essentuals make up on the internet as well.

Definetely try one of their facials first. They map your face & tell you about any problem areas & also give you free samples

I was thinking of going to a Dermalogica place as well first before buying - can anybody recommend somewhere in Dublin city centre or south side?

Buff Day Spa beside the Gaiety do facials, haven't been there for facials but they're great for other beauty treatments.

Cheapest site for Dermalogica is http://www.jerseybeautycompany.co.uk/

I use all dermalogica cremes and I love them, they make your skin look and feel amazing. They are very expensive but a small bit of each one goes along way. I have dry but very sensitive skin (I got a rash using Simple products). I buy all mine from the beauty room at the Camden Court Hotel just off Harcourt Street in Dublin. The beautician there is excellent, PM me if anyone is looking for directions or numbers!:D
