Avril Lavigne and husband Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley to split

The relationship between Avril Lavigne and Sum 41's Deryck Whibley is on the verge of collapse, according to reports.

Word of the rift arrived in the Sun today, the newspaper claiming that the pair have been drifting apart since Lavigne's world tour earlier this year.
"They have been growing apart for months," a source is quoted as saying.
"Deryck isn't motivated in his own career, so he's been drinking and partying."
The couple first got together in 2004 and married two years ago at a private function on the Californian coast.

Avril Lavigne has spoken out about rumours her marriage to rock singer Deryck Whibley is on the rocks.

US reports claimed the couple were drifting apart due to work commitments.

But Avril, 24, insists they're very happy together.

‘We’re best friends,’ she tells In Touch. ‘We have so much in common and get along all of the time. He makes me happy.’

Sum 41 frontman Deryck, 28, flew out to Asia earlier this year to support her on tour.

‘Deryck joined her for 2 months,’ a friend says. ‘He performed on stage with her every night and they sang her hit In Too Deep together.’

The couple - who wed 2 years ago - have been together for 4 years.

OMG I'm so relieved. Also, 'In too deep' is a song by Sum 41, not Avril whatever
