I was just watching Twiggy's Frock Exchange on BBC Two which features the new idea of swishing, where women get together to swap items from their wardrobes.

I'm curious about this, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any such events in Dublin or even Ireland?

Yeah I'm watching that too, I think it'd be brilliant. Never heard of it happening in Ireland though...

There was something on the Afternoon Show about this the other day - looks like Shebeen Chic do it every Saturday.

yeah sheebeen chic was good last saturday. Hasn't been up and running that long. You bring in 5 items, and you can take away 5 items. Some things aren't great, but I got a nice leather jacket, roxy top and necklace, and my mate got a massimo dutti top. If the people that use it don't abuse it by bringing in really tatty stuff it could be a really good swap resource. Will be heading in again this Saturday after a through clean out of my wardrobe!
    :)

I had a good look through Big Wardrobe and what strikes me is how much people are asking for shoes/dresses etc from shops like New Look etc!! Cheeky to say the least.

Though, if you're dedicated, I'm sure that you'll turn up some bargains.

    .

That defeats the purpose of it. I got a French Connection wrap top for €8 at the Cork one.

Went to Shebeen Chic last saturday week and was quite impressed, brought a winter coat I'd never really worn and got three tops.

I was wondering what the Shebeen Chic one was like. Good to know the pickings are decent :)

Isn't there another one somewhere in Dublin as well though, Rich Picks or something like that?

Is the shebeen chic one any good for dudes? A Friend of mine was at something like this a while ago but for charity. She picker up a really nice pair of Adidas Nizza sneakers. I ain't seen them outside of South America myself so it's a good find.

They don't have much for guys at the moment but it's getting busier and more popular so that may change.
