    hi all

im an ex-match angler and am interested in going carp fishing
for the first time in 8-10 yrs
(apart from a useless day in corkagh a few years ago)

I used to fish galmoylestown a good bit and really enjoyed it,
I always had a few, sometimes a lot!
    (liked using the pole)

this (and ballinafid) were about the only waters at the time
    for carp fishing

whats the current situation, where can i fish,
is galmoylestown still fishing? is it packed all the time?

whats the deal with the new day ticket waters?
worth a look? i wouldnt mind actually getting a few fish
to get me back into the swing

and lastly, is it too late in the year to have a chance with carp fishing
    (embarrasingly, I cant remember)

    thanks in advance

galmoylestown is great for carp, but book in advance, as it does get busy.

you can catch carp all year round, but they are less active now.

    good luck. :)

    book in advance!!

it was a free water when i fished it! first come, fi,rst best peg!

    thanks for the tip

it would be the perfect venue for my return
    ...so many memories...

i once had about 80lbs on the pole at 6 metres in about three hours
and i dont care what anyone says, for me the pole is just the greatest
when it comes to scrapping carp, so much feel, so much control

    thanks

if you happen to be heading to cork, I was up at the lough the other day and saw some kids pull out 4 decent ish carp is the time myself and herself were having a walk and feeding the geese. Im a salt water type myself so ive never fished there, but people seem to haul a few out now and again. and of course being enormous and public you wouldnt need to pay or reserve
