There is thread on AH inviting boards users to post their most controversial opinion. I posted mine and I was banned.

    Surely this is illogical.

    haha....

totally justified tbh. I wouldn't say he was trolling, just a complete loon.

Controversial - yes. Bannable - questionable.
A lot of people have the same opinion.
OP, PM Karoma and perhaps you get it lifted?

Btw, just because another user invites you to post doesn't mean you can post anything you like. If the post is considered too offensive you get a smack on the wrist.

Im a kinda newbee, but I thought you could say anything in AH, no?

Some bloke got banned last week for going off topic!! I thought that was the whole point of AH, that you could just say random stuff?

I can't really see the logic of banning him. There have been more controversial things said in that thread.

    No, that's Feedback.

Nope. You're thinking of a different forum.

Wishing and expressing your hope of the death of 300 million people isn't exactly typical AH banter.

    Pssst! your ignorance is showing.
If you're going to get twistedknickeritus, at least let be over something remotely resembling fact.

And a lot of people have the same opinion re: Irish, blacks, women, and so on and so forth. Such an ignorant statement without any discussion or point of view to back it up is just drivel.
He did. He gave me a whopping 2 minutes to reply.

I can't really see the logic of banning him. There have been more controversial things said in that thread.
And there have been other bans in that thread.
He was banned because he's a troll (Admittedly, not as bad as he used to be). This is just one time too many & it crossed a line.

I made it clear from the start of this thread that it's not a free-for-all, so where's the confusion?

Why has Feedback gone back to the old Feedback?

It's pretty straightforward really: you post something controversial and provocative... you back it up.

    Thanks for clarifying that Karoma.

I would hope that these now constant posters banging on about Gypsies, 'Knackers' etc. will face the same stalwart use of of the ban button.

Cheers to Karoma for his courageous stance
Jeers to Mountainyman for not reading the warning.

Plenty of them have - deliberately sh1t-stirring language and/or not backing up provocative statements are reprimanded throughout that thread.

True, 300 milion falls well short of the expected target.

They have done and will do.
The ban seems to have done the trick, and you've been sensible... ban reduced to 1 week.

    See!

Karoma's a good guy and Mountanyman's learned a lesson, THE SYSTEM WORKS!

He tried to change it a few years ago cause everyone was giving him stick. Each to their own, eh mountanyman ;)

The september 11 attacks were totally justified and from the point of view of the worlds 2 billion poor the only good American is dead American.

If thats the post, you deserved the ban and a kick in the nuts.

Overheal, on behalf of ..erm.. myself i apologise.

    I love yanks*

*except those grit eating redneck southerners :pac:

when you think about it its not really the OPs opinion, its an observation. Well ok, saying the attacks were justified make you sound, well...yeah.

While it's pretty damn distasteful the thread was about your most contoversial opinion.

On the other hand...if theres a history of this then I suppose a banning is justified.

Theres a history of animosity towards americans (especially in threads involving gun violence - bleh), but I try and call it how I see it. Butted heads with the mods more than once, but the vast majority of it is tongue in cheek.

I'm trying to remember the last time I read an "I've been banned from AH" that DIDN'T involve Karoma.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

that sounds wrong on so many levels... Not least the fact that you are the only one to give either mordeth, AC or Karoma head or give tongue in cheek...

a hilarious thread altogether. your most controversial opinion yet your meant to back it up on an internet forum.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

Yes. Otherwise it would be a free-for-all for idiotic statements like "all Jews should be shot" and this website is not Stormfront. If your opinion is that all Jews should be shot you surely have a reason for this...

I actually had another read through that thread lately - my controversial opinion is that some really ****ing dumb people have posted on it.
