will VHI travel insurance cover by trip deposit?

I have booked a trip to aus for new years but it turns out i have to be back to college sooner than my return date, ive paid 300 deposit on it with a travel agent, will vhi give that back to me if i cancel it or pay the difference in me changing flights? dont have my policy number with me at the mo so cant ring them yet
