An option worth checking out might be one of the Citadines Aparthotels in Paris. They are ideal for kids as there is a bit of space (compared to the hotels). The train is around 45 mins from Paris centre to Eurodisney.

That said at this time of year you may get a good all in deal for one of the on site hotels and passes to the park. Note the restaurants on site are not exactly cheap (e.g. more Dublin prices than Paris ones)

Personally I would pay the extra and get a hotel on site. They really really add to the whole "Disney experience". I have stayed at the Sequioa lodge and the cheyenne and they were both good.

there is a lot in Disneyland village at night, such as the Buffalo bill show and Cafe Mickey (An absolute must if you have kids) and although staying in the resort hotels is more expensive, they are only a ten minute (Max, some are a lot less) walk home.

    honestly, it is worth it.

If you only have 2 days then stay at Disney. If you had a week I'd suggest a hotel in Paris.

Can't help you with the Disney hotels, sorry ! (but try a search...)

explorers, dream castle, holiday inn, Kyriad, (all only a few mins from Disney gates via free shuttle leaving hotel door every few minutes and each have disney shop - you can book room and breakfast deals via www.activehotels.com) ... prices should be okay in November...you can book a package of B&B and tickets to parks through www. disneylandparis.ie and kids under 7 are free at that time so I can't see it being too expensive - you may even get an on-site hotel such as santa fe or sequoia lodge for a more disney themed experience....lots of options really when you want to book a disney break:) Enjoy:D

OP, how are you getting there? if you fly with Aer Lingus to charles de gaulle then the train is a really handy option. There is a train from the airport to disney land station, not sure how much but it is less than an hour. you also get to go on the French railways which, er, make the Irish ones look a bit "slow".

If you fly with Ryanair then you will need to either hire a car or catch the coach to Paris (Which takes about 90 minutes i think) and then a train. The "Paris" Airport Ryanair use is about 70 Km from Paris.

The extra cost and time going with ryanair is worth taking into consideration when you work out the costs.

Hey not trying to thread jack here but I am also going to Disneyland in November and I know it is expensive but wondering what people reckon is sufficient spending money to bring for two adults and one child. Also are queues redicolously long at this time of year too?

To OP santa fe is cheapest hotel in resort then cheyenne also there is a hotel called holiday inn not far from the park that is serviced by a free shuttle that is cheaper again.

I have found that cash is a pain in DLP. I can do the trip on about €100 per day for lunch and dinner and then if gifts/toys etc are purchased they are extra.... all the restaurants/gift shops etc will prefer electronic payment and it is far quicker...cash required really for kiddies rides in hotel, games room if you use it and ice-cream vendors....if you have an annuel passeport, don't forget you get 10% off in all disney outlets:D

Queues will be there but should be okay in November...depends on which day of the week though!!!:D

I stayed in the Santa Fe, so did my brother and two work colleagues.

Normally I stay in Luxury hotels or Botique houtels but to get those hotels in Disney you pay a massive premium!

The Santa Fe rooms are comfortable are quiet as most kids are asleep early. All you get is parents standing outside the buildings smoking late at night exhausted themselves from the day.

Buffett breakfast is quite good but busy. There are ways around the queues. PM me if you book this hotel, I have a ;);) way of getting through fast.

There is a bus from the hotel to the park entrances running every 15 minutes. Others outside of the main hotels have a bus but its extra and does not run so often.

Do you need a pool? If so book the Sequoia lodge. Its the cheapest with a pool.
Do you need a luxury hotel? If so the cheapest is the Newport Lodge Hotel.
Do you need the best of the best? If so, book the Disneyland Hotel. My God, its expensive.

apparently if you stay in the disneyland hotel they let you in earlier than other people.

Do be careful about the timing. We went in December before and in a whole day we only got on two rides because it was so busy (one was crap), and the queues were squashed and uncomfortable. Then when the parade came on it was so packed you were completely stuck and unable to move people pushed up against you in every direction - and you can't push through the crowd because half the people in it are little kids! I dislike crowds; really couldn't handle that - one of the worst experiences I've had in the last few years lol!
Anyway apparently the day we went was some public holiday in France when loads of French people typically go to Disneyland - so don't go on a public holiday! :). They completely ignore any sort of fire regulations and jam people in worse than any nightclub if enough come to the gates.
We went to Paris for just a weekend too. The thing about Pairs is there's loads to do and see - more than you'd expect. You need longer there than most places to have time to do everything you're likely to want to do.

    Fastpass perople, fastpass.

You get into the park, you get a map opf where everything is. You quickly make a list of the rides you want to go on. See which ones are Fastpass rides and go there first to get your advance tickets that allows you to skip 90% of the queues.

Easier said than done, trust me, i worled for a french Company and they were always having public holidays, then if the public hoiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, they take the monday or Friday off too.

It does actually come out of your holidays though :)

Sorry to hear that the Fastpass was blocked up also. It normally works out very well.

I doubt there are any times of the year when Disney is empty though any time after the French school holidays will be better then other dates.

I caught a lateish train back once on a Sunday and I found after about 2pm it was very quiet. That may have been a once off, but Sunday PM might be wirth a try.

aw i just booked it last night for me and hubby and 4 year old in novemeber!
I booked the Santa Fe in the disney park, It was 390 for 2 nights, which I think is enough to pay, and it includes park tickets for 3 days. My friend went there last month and said it was perfect, no pool or anything but perfectly fine for laying your head after a busy day! And you get to stay later if you are in the disney hotels (i think?)

Don't book Davy Crockets Ranch as there are no shuttle buses to the park.

I'm flying into Beauvais (yuck) but I got it for €90 all in for the three of us and you get the shuttle bus to port maillot station then the RER to disney, then there are buses at the train station to bring you to hotel. Alternatively you can fly to Charles de gaulle and Disney provide buses direct to your hotel.....

There may be disney busses from charles de gaulle to Disney but the fare is €17/person/journey afaik...last used it in May....cheaper to take a taxi if there are 3 or more of you! and about half the time:D

Thanks for the info ;) Just had a look and it turns out Tuesday 11 November - Armistice Day (Armistice 1918) is a French public holiday and we will be there from the 10th to the 13th so I reckon a trip to the Eiffel Tower is in order on that day. Hopefully it will be too cold on the other days for the French to be bothered going lol

    Hi
I have been to Disneyland Paris twice with my kids. Most of the hotels in Disneyland are very nice they range in prices depending on what you are looking for. The explorer hotel is excellent and not to expensive but it doesnt have meet n greet with Disney characters, all of them have free shuttle buses to and from the main parks. The Disneyland Paris website is the best place to look.

    didn't know that!
you can also get the RER direct, but again this might work out more expensive.

Hi there. I went to disneyland in july this year and stayed at the holiday inn. It was clean and comfortable with lots of choices for breakfast.
they also have different room types and most of the rooms are circus themed which i imagine kids would love!
there is a free shuttle bus leaving every 15 min or that which was v handy!:)
    hope that helps!

I booked a trip to Paris for the May bank holiday weekend, I'll be staying in Paris but on one of the days i'm going to Disneyland - the question I have though is if its possible to see everything you want in a day? Last time I went to it was in 2001 before they opened this new park, I had a great time and was able to see everything but now I'm not so sure  Either way I can't re-organise it all but just wondering peoples thoughts and may the rides/attractions I MUST see

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 10,912 Mod ✭✭✭✭Ponster

Impossible to say. Who knows what you want to see to not?

If you get there when it opens and stay until it closes and make very good use of your fastpass ticket then it's probably possible to see almost everything though I don't know how much fun it would be with kids. If it's just you then it shouldn't be a problem.

    Fastpass =

    * Indiana Jones™ and the Temple of Peril, Adventureland
    * Space Mountain: Mission 2, Discoveryland
    * Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast®, Discoveryland
    * Big Thunder Mountain, Frontierland
    * Peter Pan's Flight, Fantasyland
    * Star Tours, Discoveryland

Oh it'll just be me and the gf, from being there last time I'll definitely go to Space Mountain and Indiana Jones. Ya is the fastpass ticket a kind of upgrade to your regular ticket? The site I used sold me two 1-Day / 2 Parks Hopper ticket so I'm not sure if I've to buy another ticket when I get there

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 10,912 Mod ✭✭✭✭Ponster

When you get to the park there'll be about 8 entrances for people who are buying their tickets at the Park and 2 or 3 for those who have pre-paid. In your case you go to the pre-pay entrance (turnstiles on far-right of the entrance) where someone will give you a fastpass ticket.

    fastpass1.jpg

Take a look at your map (available *before* you go past the turnstiles or *after* you go in in the information offices on the left of USA Main Street) and decide what you want to see. The closest ride will be Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear. Walk up to the Fastpass machines - insert both fastpass tickets, one after the other, and it'll give you 2 tickets with a fixed window of time (30 minutes) to take that ride. When you turn up later at the alloted time you're looking at a 10 minute wait rather than the 'normal' wait (which could be over an hour for some rides).

Indiana Jones & Big Thunder Mountain are close to each other and in the North-West of other part (when you look at the map on USA Main Street. Head up there and do the same thing and then you'll have seen the 4 best (IMHO) rides.

It's up to you if you want to use your pass to visit the other park as you do have access to both with your 2 Parks Hopper ticket but to be honest you may be trying to pack too much into the one day.

I was last there in September (my 8th time) and the queues at Space Mountain at 11am were about 40 minutes long. At 3pm this had increased to 90 minutes.

Brilliant stuff, thanks. I literally only found out about the other park today, a week after I'd booked but I'm sure it'll be a great day regardless, I'll try do the big guns (Space mountain etc) early!
