Hi guys and girls, I have a general mathematical physics degree but I don;t know where I can get work, I am trying to get into the workforce USING my degree. Is this another useless degree or what?

    Far from a useless degree!
Regardless of if the economy is good or bad, there is always a need for actuarys.
Of course you've applied to all the main insurance companies??

    Work in Banking?
Stroll over to irishjobs.ie and there is a company offering 55k to traders. I'd get you a link but meh, it's 6:30am, do it yourself. They want a 1:1 in a quantatitive degree

Do you have any interest in cryptography? You could do an MSc in computer science and specialise in cryptography. There is a part-time one in DCU which sounds pretty good.

Maths degrees are far from useless! But you probably need another skill on top of them, like finance or programming.
